It is with great sadness that I report the passing of a very decent, intelligent, and respectable man. Mr. Emery Chee, who proudly represented the Churchrock, Baahaalii and Red Rock Chapters as a Land Board Member passed away on April 4, 2025 at the age of 80.
Mr. Chee has just recently started his 3rd term as Land Board Member in January 2025 being re-elected respectively by his peers. He was of the Towering House Clan and born for the Salt Water Clan and a proud Veteran of the Baahaalii Veteran Organization. He had served in the Bureau of Indian Affairs for over 30 years.
Mr. Chee’s funeral will be on April 16, 2025 in Gallup, New Mexico. He will be greatly remembered as a notable leader of the Diné people. ##
