The Pinedale Chapter monthly regular meeting was held on April 16, 2025 at the Pinedale Chapter House in Pinedale, NM.
Pinedale Chapter Vice-President Sylvia B. Morgan called the meeting to order at 10:25 AM with 28 registered voters present and on the telephone. Mrs. Morgan also conducted the invocation. Jonas High was selected as the Sergeant-At-Arms. The agenda was accepted with one additional resolution and a few clarification request.
The March 26, 2025 Regular meeting minutes was read by Pinedale Chapter Secretary/Treasurer Clara Daye and was accepted and approved. The March 2025 Financial Report was also reviewed and approved.
The following resolutions were presented and acted upon.
PDC-2025-04-029 A resolution supporting the Pinedale Chapter Housing Selection Committee resolution no. PDC-HSC-2025-04 “Accept and approving Housing Discretionary Assistance” Passed with vote of 25-0-4.
PDC-2025-04-030 Pinedale Chapter approves and adopts the FY 2025 “General Fund, Special Rev Fund – Internal” budget in the amount of $350,112.00. Passed with a vote of 24-0-3
PDC-2025-04-031 The Pinedale Chapter supports and approves the chapter administration to create PEP Project No. PDC-2025-10 PEP Adult Supervisor, to work between June 30, 2025 to August 1, 2025 for a total pf 160 hours, to utilize one position from PDC-2025-05 Laborer. Passed with a vote of 25-0-5.
PDC-2025-04-032 The Pinedale Chapter Chapter is in support and requesting of the NN Department of Transportation to transfer funds to the ENA BIA Maintenance to restore N11 starting from Smithlake Chapter and ending in Pinedale, NM connecting to NM Route 566. the stripes on the road are faint and are an accident fatality for driving, especially at night. Passed with a vote of 26-0-3.
PDC-2025-04-033 Pinedale Chapter is in support and approval in requesting and recommending the 25th Navajo Nation Council to appropriate $3,000,000 from the Unreserved undesignated Fund Balance (UUFB) to fund the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) with funds distributed among the 110 Chapters and to be included in the yearly comprehensive budget and not separately funded. Passed with a vote of 26-0-5.
PDC-2025-04-034 Pinedale Chapter is in support and approval in requesting and recommending the 25th Navajo Nation Council to appropriate $3,500,000 from the Unreserved undesignated Fund Balance (UUFB) to fund the Public Employment Program (PEP) with funds distributed among the 110 Chapters and to be included in the yearly comprehensive budget and not separately funded. Passed with a vote of 26-0-4.
PDC-2025-04-035 Pinedale Chapter is in support and approval in requesting and recommending the 25th Navajo Nation Council to allocate six (6) million dollars from the Unreserved Undesignated Fund Balance (UUFB) to support the Chapter Emergency Fund for each Fiscal Year Comprehensive Budget, with distribution to each of the 110 Chapters. Passed with a vote of 21-0-6.
PDC-2025-04-036 Pinedale Chapter approves and adopts the removal of Ruby Tsosie and Laverne Holtsoi as check signers for the Pinedale Chapter, effective as of January 6, 2025. Passed with a vote of 22-01-03.
PDC-2025-04-037 A resolution approving and adopting a budget transfer within Fund 09 (Housing Discretionary Assistance Fund) in the amount of $2,000 for Category C: Electrical Service expense. Passed with a vote of 25-0-4.
